I am Research Fellow based at Birmingham City University. My research interests focus on ideas around expertise in cultural work and inequalities in the sector. I am currently working on the AHRC funded UKRI/RCUK Innovation Fellowship Craft Expertise. The project is in collaboration with Crafts Council UK and we are exploring inequalities and diversity in the UK professional craft sector. I am also Director of the Centre for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Arts (CEDIA) at Birmingham City University.
I have published two books: The Politics of Expertise in Cultural Labour: Arts, Work, Inequalities (2020) and Craft Entrepreneurship co-edited with Annette Naudin (2020).
