I am an Associate Professor in Media at Birmingham City University. My research interests include inequalities in cultural work and cultural workers’ social media use. My most recent major project was the Arts and Humanities Research Council funded Innovation Fellowship Craft Expertise. The project was in collaboration with Crafts Council UK, and it explored inequalities and diversity in the UK professional craft sector. I am co-lead of the Centre for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Arts (CEDIA) at Birmingham City University.
I have published three books: Craft as a Creative Industry (2024), The Politics of Expertise in Cultural Labour: Arts, Work, Inequalities (2020) and Craft Entrepreneurship co-edited with Annette Naudin (2020).
